Academic Study:
Online Forest Bathing and Long Covid

The Feasibility and Impact of Practising Online Forest Bathing to Improve Anxiety, Rumination, Social Connection and Long-COVID Symptoms: A Pilot Study

This pilot study, which Caroline was involved in, sought to determine the feasibility and effectiveness of online forest bathing in adults with Long-COVID. The study found that “Online Forest bathing resulted in significant improvements in well-being and symptom severity and could be considered an accessible and inexpensive adjunct therapy for Long-COVID patients. Where people have limited access to in-person nature, virtual nature may offer an alternative to improve health and well-being outcomes.”

What People Are Saying

“Caroline’s training workshops and one to one consultations at each of our care homes have been very helpful. Supporting the staff and activity coordinators to set up gardening groups with the residents, encouraging the residents outside, and identifying how to improve the gardens has been very practical. Each care home now has purpose built raised planters and colourful gardens for residents, staff and families to enjoy.”

— Training Manager, Ashmere Care Homes July 2018

“The project personally made me feel happy and joyful. Helping the residents made me feel that what we are doing is something special, something really important.”

— Child on Intergenerational Project in Matlock
